Prison and police decline to comment on reports of flood and rooftop escape
Friday 18th March 2011, 11:30AM GMT.
POLICE were called to help prison officers last night during an incident at Les Nicolles.
Neither the police nor the duty manager at the prison would confirm any details of the incident, but a response from governor Terry Wright is expected this morning.
However, speculation was rife last night on social networking site Facebook that an inmate had flooded his cell, somehow managed to escape the main building, and climbed onto the roof.
None of these claims could be substantiated, though, as police and prison officials refused to give any details of the incident.
