Town rapist pleads guilty

FILIPE BURTON yesterday pleaded guilty to one count of rape and two of attempted rape.
Burton (pictured), who was 18 when he was arrested, has been in custody since his arrest in September, and appeared before a pleas and directions hearing of the Royal Court.
He admitted raping a woman on 17 July last year at Forest Lane, St Peter Port, and attempting to rape another woman at Amherst Road, St Peter Port, on 31 July. He denied raping yet another woman on 28 August at Forest Lane but pleaded guilty to the alternative of attempted rape.
Burton will now appear before a judge and Jurats at a sentencing hearing in May.
