Family of four need hospital treatment after flats blaze

A YOUNG family were treated in hospital for smoke inhalation after a cigarette set fire to bed linen in a Town flat.
Firefighters were called to the fire on the first floor of the property at the top of Mansell Street at 11.15pm on Friday.
The family, a man of 27, woman aged 20, and two children aged five and one, had already managed to escape when the fire crew arrived.
The bedroom was destroyed and there was extensive smoke damage to the rest of the flat and to the communal hallways.
