Rowe recovers to make top 10
Tuesday 22nd March 2011, 2:29PM GMT.
KATIE ROWE overcame an early setback to claim 10th place out of more than 300 runners on Saturday in the junior girls’ race at the Aviva ESAA English Schools’ National Cross-Country Championship at Wollaton Park, Nottingham.
Rowe (pictured) was held up in a melee at the start of the race and lost touch with the leading pack, leaving her with a lot of work to do to close the gap.
She also suffered a stitch in the latter stages but hung on to grab that 10th place.
Another positive for Rowe was finishing above national under-13 champion Katie Sheil-Rankin.
