Young mum relives flat fire nightmare

A FAMILY night in watching Comic Relief turned into a nightmare for Nick Cotterill, his partner and his two children.

Mr Cotterill’s girlfriend Remi Loveridge, their son Theo, who will be two tomorrow, and Mr Cotterill’s daughter from a previous relationship, five-year-old Olivia, had been staying over at his flat when a fire broke out in the property below.

The family yesterday re-lived the horror of the ordeal, which saw them fleeing from the burning building in Mansell Street at around 11pm.

The blaze was caused after a cigarette set light to bed linen in the flat below.

    Just glad to hear that no one was hurt
    Like Mr Cotteril said that person should not be smoking inside let alone in bed. It could of been a lot worse.
