TRAFALGAR saw off a brave showing from Sure to secure the Sunday Soccer League Cup after a pulsating eight-goal thriller at Foote’s Lane.
The eventual winners were never behind, although they were pegged back to level terms on three occasions in the first half, before a double-strike after the break sealed the trophy.
It took less than two minutes for Trafalgar to get off the mark, Danny Le Page netting the vital opener.
Many of the spectators thought it would set the tone and that Trafalgar would run away with it, but Sure gained some composure and began to pass the ball around well, taking advantage of the space offered by the large pitch.
