Guernsey show huge progress

GUERNSEY’S women rugby players showed the strides they have been making as they came within one score of beating Jersey in their recent clash at KGV.

Indeed, they were leading in the latter stages and it took a last-gasp converted Jersey try to break Sarnian hearts.

Guernsey elected to receive at the kick-off, with flanker Ju Francart (pictured) taking the high ball expertly and driving in for the first breakdown.

With uncontested scrums, both teams’ forwards were hitting the rucks with vigour and the inexperienced Guernsey pack showed their improvement, holding their own both in rucks and around the park.
