truchot_finance.jpgGUERNSEY has fallen one place in the latest rankings of financial centres.

The Global Financial Centres Index places Guernsey in 27th, four places below Jersey but eight above the Isle of Man.

It is updated every six months and examines major centres in terms of competitiveness by calculating a set of ratings for each of the jurisdictions.

It uses data available from each centre as well as responses to a global survey.

London is in the top spot, ahead of New York and Hong Kong.

The report said that offshore centres were continually falling further than average in the rankings – a trend that began with the financial crisis.
