Vale Rec 1, Watchet Town 1 (after extra-time, Watchet win 5-3 on pens)
VALE REC fell victim to the drama of a penalty shoot-out as they were knocked out of the Somerset Cup at the quarter-final stage at the Corbet Field.

Daena Bodie was the only player to miss from 12 yards, shooting straight at Tayler Maddock, while all five Watchet players found the bottom corners of Joby Bisson’s net.

Gareth Holden, Damien Larkin and youngster Blair Howitt were all successful from the spot, but it was not enough after an intriguing 120 minutes that had ended one apiece.

It took until the first period of that extra time that a goal finally arrived, Holden burying home after a goalmouth scramble, before Jamie Milton’s cracking volley levelled matters soon after.
