THREE penalties, a red card, seven bookings and a goal worthy of winning any football match.
This was an inter-insular battle that had everything, played at breathtaking speed from the first whistle to the last of the 80-minute game and, at the end of it, Sarnian glory as they lifted the Nigel Gavey Trophy for the first time.
It was a deserved win at the Track, although the visitors more than played their part in a wonderful exhibition for Channel Islands football ahead of more battles in the coming weeks.
Joe Collenette ultimately was the Guernsey hero with a stunning 25-yard effort to win the game minutes before half-time, taking the ball down and making space for himself before finding the top corner.
