GOLFER SAM SHIELDS has won the Royal Guernsey Henderson Cup qualifier by a remarkable 12 Stableford points.
Having scored 44 in the first round he bettered that performance with a 45 in the second.
His reward is a first round draw against L’Ancresse Club qualifier and island star, Jamie Blondel.
The top eight players from each of the Royal and L’Ancresse qualifiers went into the hat for the knockout stages for which the full draw is:
A. Younger v. C. J. Bourgaize; R. Cotran v. F. Moriarty; J. Blondel v. S. Shields; A. J. Le Page v. M. de la Mare; G. Sebire v. J. J. Rihoy; T. Carter v. P. Le Tissier; P. Le Page v. T. de Putron; R. Queripel v. T. Dawson.
