A FRENCH fisherman yesterday relived the tragic final moments of father-of-four Philippe Lesaulnier, who died after the Condor Vitesse ploughed into his boat.
Pascal Thevenin, skipper of French trawler The Joker, told how he fought to save the life of the 42-year-old captain of Granville fishing vessel Les Marquises.
It is understood Mr Lesaulnier had been in the water for about 15 minutes by the time crew from The Joker pulled him on board.
Mr Thevenin said they were distraught to find their fellow fisherman was not breathing.
‘We tried everything,’ he said after returning with his vessel to Granville yesterday.
