Education steps in as pupils abuse their teachers online

Student on laptop. PUPILS have been abusing teachers over the internet.

The Education Department has confirmed that incidents have been reported in the island.

A survey conducted by a professor at Plymouth University revealed that more than a third of teachers and other professionals working with young people in the south-west had been abused through the internet and social networking sites.

An Education spokesman said: ‘The department is aware of a small number of incidents where staff have been abused online.’
