CHARLIE THOMPSON was the hat-trick hero as Rovers’ under-14 youngsters added silverware to the Port Soif trophy cabinet after an entertaining 3-2 win over Vale Rec in the Le Prevost Cup final.

The Rovers captain struck within the first minute, a fierce shot beating Barnaby Paul and finding the bottom corner.

The conclusion of the cup competition at Northfield saw third and fourth collide from a league that has been the closest in Guernsey football this year.

And that showed as both sides looked dangerous, with Rec levelling matters just before half-time.
