A 70-YEAR-OLD woman died in the early hours of yesterday following a fire at her St Saviour’s home the previous day.

Aimee Le Page suffered serious burns when a fire started in a bedroom at Chrisanmar in Rue de la Maladerie at 1.30pm on Saturday afternoon.

Her grandson, Jamie Le Page, who lives next door, was alerted by a smoke alarm fitted in the semi-detached property and rushed to help, but the rear of the house was already well alight.

‘I did what anyone would do in that situation. I just went over and got her out of the house as quickly as I could.’
