A CORNET Street resident is continuing to collect names for his petition in the hope a right of appeal to the Coupee Lane development still exists.

Angus Perfitt, 50, said he would take his plea for support around pubs in his area in an attempt to show surrounding residents were against plans to build a block of flats with underground parking just behind his house.

The proposals were accepted by the Environment Department board at the end of last month at the island’s first open planning meeting.

But Mr Perfitt said that was a farce as no members of the public were allowed to voice their opinion.
