CTV apologises for Jess’s F-word in Channel Report

CHANNEL TELEVISION has apologised to viewers after presenter Jess Dunsdon was heard to use the F-word during yesterday’s edition of Channel Report.

CTV broadcast division managing director, Karen Rankine said the incident had resulted from a technical error and that footage from a rehearsal earlier in the day had inadvertently found its way into the live broadcast.

‘It was not a live moment in the programme,’ she said.

‘It was said in error in the studio and for some reason it found itself onto our server and into the broadcast

‘It’s regrettable and our presenters did apologise on air, but once it’s out, it’s out.

‘This was not something our presenters would ever do when they were live on air.’

I also fully agree with the comment that CTV’s presentation is far too prissy and that it’s nice to know there is a real, human side to some of their cardboard cutout newscasters. Oh to have been a fly on the wall when that little embarrassment hit home at Channel Telly towers!

Its the programme in a nutshell I am afraid, shocking lack of professionalism. The girls on the programme always talking about their boyfriends or lack of…. funny that.

Also its the Jersey News, with an end note of ‘today on the smaller islands’!

Channel Televison are going from strength to strength. They get awards for their excellent and truthful journalism and when things do go wrong they have the strength to aplogise and put things right. Add some comedy in we are so lucky to have such professional media across the channel islands!

No apology on Channel Report tonight or on channelonline. I don’t need one myself (I think it’s hilarious and Jess is quite hot) but typical CTV to ignore it like a bad smell.

Hi Profile politicians the world over have got away with being caught out saying the wrong thing on the media.

Nice to see that the management of CTV huddle round to take the blame collectively. Good on you Jess, you human being, you! quite funny really.

PS. can us Guerns get a bit more than 15% of the news on air?

….Kenneth Tynan is reputed to be the first man ever to use the ‘F’ word on television back in the sixties….big reaction…disgust, horror and all the others….strange to see it still causes a reaction all these years on, albeit somewhat more mellow.

For goodness sake people, we all swear sometimes! Granted, though to swear on live tv is a little naughty but Jess is pretty hot, and almost always presents the show in a way in which the audience can understand so give her a break she is only human we all make mistakes!!

mr crafty – I don’t know what all the ‘for goodness sake’ is all about. No one is having a go at Jess from what I’m reading…

More the ‘cock and bull’ story about it being a rehearsal tape. I find it amusing as it really doesn’t make any difference if it was a rehearsal tape or if it was indeed Jess live. I think everyone here understands mistakes happen.

CTV by way of an apology should give us the freeview channels we are missing and they have promised , such as the +1 and HD channels.

We’re all quilty of it, but there’s time these days you feel that if the words “F***” and “C***” were wiped from many peoples minds that they wouldn’t be able to put a sentence together.

But look on the brightside if they sack Jess Dunsdon she can always get a job in Deadwood.
