Desperques wins a sixth straight title

MARTYN DESPERQUES may have lost his grip on the snooker title, but there is still no one on the island who can touch him when it comes to billiards.
Just two days after his shock defeat to Adrian Holley in the showpiece snooker event, Desperques clinically won the billiards version for a sixth straight time.
In a repeat of last year’s final, it was not the most accomplished start from Desperques, and opponent Milford De Carteret was every bit his match as both players got to the 140s together with a target of 200 in sight.
But from there Desperques (pictured) was able to put on a spurt and take the first frame 200-163.
