Give sex abuse victims a voice
Thursday 14th April 2011, 1:00PM BST.
VICTIMS of child sex abuse are being invited to speak out by one survivor, who tells her story in today’s Guernsey Press.
Zibby Yates, 35 (pictured), was a victim of convicted paedophile Eugene Hughes , the former judo instructor, who was arrested after multiple victims independently came forward to police.
She wants to hear from anyone who has been affected by child sex abuse, whether victims or members of victims’ families.
‘I’d like to know how Hughes and others like him have affected people’s lives.’
Anyone wishing to contact Miss Yates can do so on voiceforvictims@hotmail.co.uk. Emails can be anonymous and all will be treated confidentially. They will not be passed on to the police.

Voice For Victims
Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
The Guernsey Press could do the island a favour by ensuring that a few free copies of Zibby’s full printed story are left lying around in the prison recreation area

The effects of child abuse are far reaching, leading to parents of the abused divorcing, parents unable to relate normally to their children. So the victims not only suffer depression, they suffer breakdowns in other areas too. Also the media whip up hysteria about abuse and you get innocent people being assaulted and accused of child abuse.
