‘It’s my biggest race ever’

LEE MERRIEN is just 48 hours away from the most important two and a bit hours of his athletics career.
As thousands of runners descend upon London this weekend for the Marathon, Merrien, 31, joins them with the chance of achieving the ultimate in his sport.
Merrien (pictured) will be on the elite start line, with the hope of securing a place in the British team for the London Olympics in 2012.
The Guernseyman has high hopes of achieving what he describes as a ‘once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, competing in an Olympics in London’.
