Should we care?

Dear Luke,

Yes, one should care.

Ok, so I was reared in a house where we stood for the Queen’s Speech.

And my mum gate-crashed Charles’ wedding – albeit the second one – and got in Hello Magazine. But whether you are a Royalist or not, this wedding is the social event
of the decade, possibly the century.

I was five when Charles and Di got hitched and I can remember it vividly.

We sat around the big box-telly and had a huge garden party. I knew it was a big deal because the paddling pool was out. And it took about five hours to fill with a hose.

Will and Kate are a very modern romance. They met at Uni and, despite a brief wobble, stayed together.

She’s had to wait eight years for Goodness Sakes, but the Royals had to make sure they weren’t letting another Fergie into the fold.

Little girls grow up dreaming of marrying their Prince Charming but, and let’s get real here for a minute, most feel like they have got stuck with the frog.

This is proof that dreams can come true and whether it’s out of a sense of duty, national pride or mere curiosity, billions of people will tune in – they can’t all be wrong.

Don’t fight it. It’s time to release your inner Royal.

Yes Luke, that means you as well.

I know you can do it.
