Delancey’s Stone Age grave will be examined this summer
Tuesday 19th April 2011, 2:29PM BST.
THE LAST secrets of the island’s only gallery grave, at Delancey Park, could be uncovered this summer.
Planning permission has been granted for a dig to start in June at the Stone Age site, which could be up to 6,000 years old.
Last June Dr George Nash and the Clifton Antiquarian Club dug six tests pits around the grave to see where would be good to dig. They will be returning this summer for a two-week excavation.
States archaeologist Dr Phil de Jersey (pictured) said a dig in the 1930s meant only a small area was worth exploring today.

I’m pretty sure I saw an episode where Fred Flintstone treated Wilma to short flight on her 30th birthday
The plane resembled a Rolladen-Schneider Rockhopper LSD Ornith if my memory serves correctly

Good luck to those intrepid diggers…
Just think on… and remember what happened to the Rev Lee who gave his consent to the dig at Lislet..
They are sacred burial grounds and no one, but no one has the right to open them,
However I’m sure that old saying will once again come into force- so just remember …
Curiosity killed the cat.

Ray you are quite right.
My son was pilot, he only did it because he was
STONEBROKE.
