St Paul’s 4, Northerners 0
IT WAS a golden day for St Paul’s under-16s as they capped off a glittering season with victory over visitors Northerners in Sunday’s Upton at Springfield.

The Jersey side, undefeated all season, beat Guernsey’s champions to lift the John Leatt Memorial Trophy in front of a 240-strong crowd after four second-half goals.

The scoring opened five minutes after the restart as Jay Giles’ enticing corner delivery was met by the tall Tom Floyd who directed it into the top of the goal despite the best efforts of the North defence to keep it out.

Having edged ahead, a relaxed St Paul’s finally settled into the game and doubled their lead eight minutes later.
