Dress rehearsal
Wednesday 20th April 2011, 3:00PM BST.

Aimee Le Cocq and James Greening
THERE are now only 10 days to go until the competition and my nerves have started to set in.
I know it is for charity and not a professional competition, but that does not make it any easier.
Although I know both my dances fully, I am worried that on the night I will be so scared I will forget one or the other – or both. Hopefully that will not happen.
Now my dresses are here, I did my first practise wearing my tango outfit. I felt a bit out of place with everyone else in their normal attire. But with extra pieces attached to my dress, we needed to see how the dance would work.
We have changed a few parts of the dance, which was probably a good thing as I would have ended up strangling James with my ‘arm floats’, as they are called.
Vanessa Le Tissier remarked how my dress seemed to improve the dancing. I must admit, I did feel a bit more graceful in it than I do in my usual jogging bottoms.
James, my dance partner, has changed a few things in our routine simply to make it look nicer. So we are just practising these new parts and perfecting the steps, arm and head movements. I am having a few problems getting used to the new parts as my muscles have memorised the previous ones. But at least I have nearly two weeks rather than two days until the challenge.
As well as my dancing, I have to think about my beauty regime in the run-up.
I have already booked to have my highlights done on the morning of the competition. But my hair also has to be styled for the occasion. I need to speak to Christine, who is the stylist, about what I can do with it as unlike a lot of the dancers, my hair is short.
In addition to that is my fake tan. It would be much easier for me to have it done professionally. But I am not sure when would be best? On the day of the competition or a few days before? This is something I am going to have to look into, but I do not have much time left to do so.
So much to do, so little time.
