Dressing down?

Hold the front page. Kate in ‘buying cheap knickers’ shock.

Good for Kate I say. If she wants to buy cheap pants so what? I love the idea of the future Queen strolling along King’s Road under hoards of bunting for her wedding and shops full of tat with her name on. How very British.

Surely life doesn’t get more surreal than that. If she wants to go for a mooch around the shops then let her get on with it, she is marrying into the Royal Family after all so it’s not weird for her to mingle with the minions. She did it all the time before she bagged Wills.

The weirdest thing is that some poor work experience hack has been charged with following her around and pricing all the stuff she is buying for her honeymoon. There will be no surprises for her future husband at this rate.

As well as popping into Warehouse she bought a blouse called ‘the Kate’ – a case of life imitating art – or fashion in this case, or art imitating life…..

She reportedly had security but she spared their blushes and let them wait in the car rather than rifle through lacy undies. Still it’s got to be more fun than trailing around after Princess Anne.
