THREE of the Guernsey Island Games archery team dominated the recurve class when they travelled to the Isle of Wight to compete in the Wight Bowmen Vectis tournament.

The competition consisted of a Worcester round, five-dozen arrows shot indoors over 20 yards, maximum score 300, followed by an outdoor round of four-dozen arrows at 30 metres, maximum score 480.

Jason Le Page won the Supreme Recurve Archer trophy, placing second in the Gents’ Worcester, due to an unfortunate miss, but redeemed himself with the top score outdoors.

Chantelle Goubert took first place in both the women’s events, but it was not quite enough to take the top award from Le Page.

Steve Yates placed third in the indoor round and combined with Le Page and Goubert to win the Recurve Team trophy comfortably by almost 100 points.

Jenny Tatton from Alderney also attended and placed fifth in the Worcester and sixth outdoors.
