NEW Lt-Governor Air Marshal Peter Walker said he had been overwhelmed by the friendliness of islanders during his first week in the role.
Air Marshal Walker was in Alderney yesterday, where he enjoyed a short island tour before attending the April States meeting.
He said: ‘What has really struck me more than anything else is the openness and friendliness of everyone I’ve met.
‘They’ve gone out of their way to make my wife and I feel particularly welcome and I thank them all for that.’
