IT WAS the visitors who dominated the Guernsey Easter badminton Open, with two first-time winners taking the singles honours.

Ben Muir and Jo Dix, both from Hampshire, were worthy winners of the men’s and women’s individual events at the Sports Guernsey-supported tournament as both lived up to their number one seeding.

Muir was up against Adam Rickenbach, who had pulled off something of an upset in the semi-final, beating the defending champion Martin Ventham in straight sets.
