ARMED police were involved in an operation to detain a teenage boy who it was believed was carrying a knife yesterday.
Officers were called out at 8.30am after police received information that a teenager had a knife.
At least four police cars and a van were involved in the search around the area of Vale Road, St Sampson’s.
Chief Inspector Nigel Taylor said there were also concerns about the boy’s welfare.
‘Police officers, some of whom were armed, attempted to find the youth who was located later in the morning in the Victoria Avenue area and has been safely detained.’
