A NEW ordering system devised in Guernsey is now being implemented across the island’s Co-op stores.
Aldis and Juris Belovs, brothers from Latvia, came up with the idea and have now been rewarded by their employers for their initiative by being awarded £5,000 in the ‘suggestion that most benefits the society’ category at the Co-op’s third annual recognition awards.
The brothers have worked for the Channel Islands Co-operative Society since 2005.
They first worked together at the Grande Marche in St Martin’s – where they came up with their idea – but have recently moved to Jersey.

Does this mean that the Coop in Guernsey will no longer blame Jersey when they are out of a product for weeks on end like they have done over the last 8 years? Guess they can hardly say that they have no input into what is ordered (and therefore sent to them) any more!!

This proves that these two fellas are interested and enthusiastic about their job unlike the majority of local shop workers whose only interest is chatting amongst themselves whilst ignoring the customers. The ‘influx’ of temporary Waitrose employees has shown us how it should be done. Decent service has been lacking in the majority local shops for many years (with the exception of Gabriels)
