A NEW windrow turner will save States Works staff hours.
General manager Nigel Dorey said the new £150,000 piece of equipment – to help turn green waste into soil conditioner – had been on the wish list for a while.
‘It turns rows of compost over which needs to be done around once every week,’ he said.
‘The way I’d describe it is that it’s almost like a goalmouth on wheels with a big rotor blade in the middle.
‘The blade turns and spins, turning compost and throwing it out behind it in a nice neat row.’

The full story gives the following quote from Mr Dorey
“We’re making what we’ve got as efficient as possible while we wait for probably another two years for the waste strategy to be decided”
ANOTHER TWO YEARS!!!
Does anyone else despair at the snail pace urgency of our States. Is this what makes them the worst States ever?
