GUERNSEY will potentially face a group decider against the Isle of Man in their last game of this year’s Island Games group C.

Yesterday’s release of the schedule showed that Tony Vance’s side will open up against the Falkland Islands, regarded as the group’s weakest team, on Sunday 26 June in Brading, a small rural town on the island.

Successive days will then see Gotland as the middle game, again an evening fixture in West Wight, before the culminating clash in East Cowes on the Tuesday afternoon.

Barring any slip-ups, Vance (pictured) hopes that the Isle of Man clash will be his side’s D-day in terms of reaching the semi-finals, in a repeat of the encounter which saw a 5-0 Sarnian win in 2009.
