MEMORABILIA from ‘Guernsey’s Own’ 201 Squadron is to be kept in the island.
The squadron will be disbanded on 26 May as part of UK defence budget cuts.
More than 600 items from RAF Kinloss will be brought to Guernsey next month in recognition of the island’s 72-year affiliation with 201 Squadron – the last in the British Isles.
Items include silverware, paintings, photographs, souvenir plaques and pennants, table-top trophies, signs and noticeboards listing the names of past commanders.
The goods will be put in the care of the Commerce and Employment Department.
