Marketing head goes to tribunal

Blue Islands’ consultation when it scrapped its marketing department after its Aurigny bid collapsed was a sham, a former employee told an industrial tribunal.
But airline chairman Derek Coates, pictured, said the redundancy process followed proper procedures and was essential for the airline to remain financially viable.
The claim came from former head of marketing Trish Grover, who left Blue Islands in January.
Mr Coates said a decision to close its in-house marketing department was made following a business strategy review after its Aurigny bid failed.
