THE Guernsey Dressage Group’s April competition was keenly anticipated after the cancellation of the March event due to the closure of the BSJA showground following the outbreak of an isolated case of Equine Strangles in the island.

Competitors were keen to practise their dressage as the dressage festival in June is fast approaching.

Wendy Hocart enjoying her first season on her coloured horse St Taurus was placed third in her prelim test, while Nikki Brouard on Wadman and Jenny Rowlinson on Drumhowan Rolex fought out the top two places in the novice open section with both riders enjoying success over the weekend.

Traci Griffith achieved the highest score of the weekend with 72.25% in her novice BDQ qualifier with her horse Don Dreamer.
