Coachways and Environment ‘far too cosy’ on buses

ISLAND COACHWAYS and the Environment Department have a ‘far too cosy’ relationship whereby neither is prepared to take difficult decisions, the former managing director of Guernseybus has claimed.

But that was strongly denied by the department in a statement yesterday when it said that, while the two parties had a good working relationship, responsibilities for both were clearly defined.

Terry Le Maitre, pictured, ran the island’s former bus operator for more than 11 years and has more than 30 years’ industry experience.
