FINANCE workers at Saffery Champness are encouraging women to get involved with this year’s Pink Ladies’ Sunset Coastal Walk.

The company is sponsoring the medals that will be given to every female who completes the event.

First launched in 2007 by the Pink Ladies, the initial walk attracted more than 2,000 participants of all ages and raised more than £100,000 for local breast cancer support. Since then it has gone from strength to strength, providing funds to help the support group pay for locally available treatment for lymphedema, a side-effect of the disease.

Now the Pink Ladies – who celebrate their 10th anniversary this year and continue to offer advice, help and raise awareness about breast cancer – are calling on girls and women across the island to dress in pink and join them on this year’s walk on Saturday 18 June.
