SOS – save our shopper say Sandy Hook store customers

Monday 16th May 2011, 11:30AM BST.

Tessa Le GallezUSERS of Sandy Hook Shopper said they would be sad to see it go if permission is granted to turn the building into homes.

Owner Sandpiper has submitted a planning application to convert it into three dwellings and car parking spaces.

‘I think it is a real shame,’ said sales administrator Tessa Le Gallez, 32 (pictured).

‘My in-laws live round here and we use this shop quite a bit because we find it more convenient.

‘It is sad to see small shops like this disappearing – they are becoming a thing of the past.’

Is that a Checkers store I spy around the corner?

Yes Shaun – indeed it is. And around the other corner is Marks and Spencers….all within walking distance of each other.

I’m really amazed that the Sandy Hook shopper has lasted this long. Once the Post Office had been relocated it was only a matter of time.

Shame that they can’t keep it as a retail space of some description though, instead of cramming yet more residential property into that area…..potential site for the new Griffin’s Grotto maybe?

    Don’t worry folk,

Nothing you can do against the modern lot of dictators.

But one day it will come. there will be joy in the streets, public holidays, effigies will burn and a good time will be had by all.
and we will thank Him for looking after you.
    Never despair.
