Coach Wallace pleased to see players ‘come of age’

Jersey Seconds 29, Guernsey Seconds 17
AFTER crushing the Guernsey 2nds away last year, the Jersey RFC’s second team did not have it all their own way at St Peter on Saturday.
True, they dominated the first half with an outstanding display of three, four, or five-phase rugby and their handling was exceptional.
However, the second half belonged to Guernsey as, 29-3 up at the break, Jersey gave away simple tries, could not score themselves and were clinging on grimly before retaining the Fallaize Trophy 29-17 at the end.
‘If you’d have given me 29-17 before the break I would have taken it,’ said Guernsey coach Dave Wallace afterwards.
