LAST year’s runners-up, Floral St Peter’s, have won the 2011 Insurance Corporation Conservation Award.
The group was awarded the prize for its work on Le Ch’mn du Tresor, a woodland and meadow walk below St Peter’s Church.
Forest School was awarded the top prize in the schools’ category.
This year is the 21st anniversary of the awards and two additional prizes were given to mark this. These went to the Guernsey Botanical Trust for its work on the walled garden at Saumarez Park and to Le Murier School.

Voice For Victims
Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
So very well done Floral St Peters and, continuing admiration for Peter Walpole, who kick started this wonderful initiative some many years ago.
May I take a minute on this forum to also compliment Martin Ozanne, now heading up National Trust of Guernsey, I am not sure if he has still an active role as a long standing Douzenier, but his long standing skills are considerable. Martin’s wife sadly died recently, Had she been able, I am sure she would have loved to share in this great achievment.
