Eggo, a nine times winner, defeated Jack Mitchell one up on the last hole, while Marley, an island champion four times and finalist many times more, hit back from two down with three to play to par the first extra hole and break young Tom Le Huray’s heart.
Eggo (pictured) might have also been taken down the first a second time but, on the last, Mitchell who had birdied the 17th to get it back to one, saw his birdie putt scrape past the cup.
