RICHARD PERKINS has maintained his unbeaten record in the 2011 Guernsey Rifle Club competitions.

Victory in the Leale qualifier also ensured his presence at the final of the Channel Islands Championship in which the top eight shooters from each island battle for the ultimate local prize.

Consisting of two sighters and seven shots to count at 300, 500 and 600 yards, the competition is always keenly fought and on this occasion attracted 17 shooters.

It was a blustery day when the wind was difficult to judge, but Perkins dropped just three points for a score of 102.12 ex 105.21.
