Blondel turns on the style

DEFENDING champion Danny Blondel is still going strong in the Island Championship.
He overcame the biggest obstacle yet in his title defence yesterday, namely the last man to beat him in the competition, Andy Eggo.
There was some outstanding golf played in the repeat of the previous two finals, but Blondel (pictured) looked every inch a champion as he emerged a 2 and 1 winner.
The pair were virtually inseparable over the front nine until Eggo’s second shot on the ninth dived into the douit short of the green not to be seen again.
