A MAN found dead in his flat yesterday morning was described by his friends as ‘the salt of the earth’.

Neighbours and friends named him as James Queripel, 38, who was discovered by police at around 11am in his Town home at Cliff Terrace, The Strand.

Chief Inspector Ruari Hardy said officers were investigating the unexplained death.

Officers in forensic suits were seen leaving the building at around 4pm with what appeared to be bagfuls of Mr Queripel’s possessions.

He had lived there for around two years.
