GUERNSEY was the backdrop for a very different kind of marathon on the weekend as around 100 people took to the streets for a quickfire photography competition.

The Guernsey Photography Festival Photomarathon attracted people as young as two-and-a-half up to those in their 70s to tackle 12 topics with just one shot for each.

The event was the prelude to the festival which takes place throughout June with a host of exhibitions by international and local artists, as well as talks and workshops.
