BEN COULTER could be facing injury heartbreak again after fears that he has suffered serious damage to the anterior cruciate ligaments in his right knee.

The influential St Martin’s and Guernsey central-midfielder picked up the non-contact injury in last month’s Jeremie Cup final, missing both the Upton and Muratti Vase finals as a result.

The 21-year-old (pictured) is waiting for scan results to show the exact nature of the injury, but he admits that he is worried that it is a mirror image of the injury to his left knee, which kept him out of action for much of the 2009-10 season.

That also came about innocuously after landing awkwardly during the Island Games match against Froya in the summer of 2009 and he did not return fully fit until the beginning of the following season.
