Guernsey finish with a flourish on play-off debut

AN IMPRESSIVE late win ensured that Guernsey finished fourth in their debut outing in the British League Premier Division table tennis play-offs.
The Sarnian quartet of Phil Ogier, Garry Dodd, Alice Loveridge and Olly Langlois had qualified for the event for the first time after a second-placed finish in Division One South/Midlands.
And although they could not earn promotion, that honour going to Pavilion I out of the five-team league, Guernsey finished above both Halton I and Olop Impact on set difference.
The group included the top sides from the three regional Division One leagues, with promotion to the country’s elite Premier League the goal.
