Peter Vidamour A BIG chance for players to stake their claim for a place in the Guernsey squad for the inaugural ICC European Division One T20 Championship arrives with the MCC next week.

There is a change to the traditional tour as the visitors will take on a Island XI over the Twenty20 format for the first time on Tuesday as part of the Sarnians’ preparations for the tournament they will co-host with Jersey in July.

‘Clearly the point of playing them in a T20 game is us having the European tournament coming up,’ said island manager Peter Vidamour (pictured).

‘We have got this game, then all the guys will be playing in the GPL in the run up to the European T20.’
