Owen takes first victory as champ crashes out

DAN OWEN made the most of his window of opportunity in round two of the Holeshot & Relentless Downhill Mountain Bike Series.

The Grantez was the venue for the Guernsey Velo Club event in which Owen (pictured) claimed his first category and overall victory.

The course has always been a favourite of many the riders and has been used every year since the start of the series.

It starts in the fields by the Grantez mill looking out over Vazon bay then descends through two fields with an eight-foot down ramp between them.
