WAITROSE is introducing mobility scooters to its Guernsey stores.
Two arrived in the island yesterday to ensure the needs of disabled shoppers at the Admiral Park and Rohais branches are met.
They have been sourced with help from disability equipment experts at St John’s Ambulance and Rescue Service.
The issue was highlighted in the Guernsey Press on 19 April after Gina Johnson, who has multiple sclerosis, contacted Waitrose after she learned that they did not provide such mobility aids.

Voice For Victims
Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
With all due respect to the shoppers who will benefit from this customer service, I do hope for their sake and those who will be negotiating around them, that St Johns will also provide some guidance for their use.
No doubt it is too much to expect that the stores will note their usage accordingly and provide a dedicated till, thereby freeing up the scooters for others who may be waiting to use them.
i think well actually know that the people using these scooters proberbly dont need any help with using them as they rely on things like this daily.

They will find something else to moan about….
After all I bet they dont just do their shopping at places with scooters.
